Shopaholic???

I start thinking if I am really a shopaholics like people say, so I know couple of years ago (life before marriage) when I'm down going to DSW will probably give me about 8 hours of happiness, going to the mall and dropping it like it's HOT at Nordstrom and Macy's that will add about 8 to 10 more hours of happiness so in total hanging out at pentagon city can give me about a day and half of happiness and I will go my marry way.So I guess as time pass by I've started collecting more things besides clothes and shoes, I can't even believe that now my favorite hanging out place is Homegoods (seriously) whatever happened to me? This past weekend I wanted time to myself so I headed to a shopping center with my favorite clothing outlet stores and home accessories. That day all I was focusing on was accessories, can you believe I don't even have my mind set up on furniture yet but I'm jumping into the accessories world. the good thing about eclectic design is that you can have different styles what will work well together so I guess I'm hoping that's probably what i have to run with.

Romantic style

I took a quiz and supposedly the designs that I am into is ROMANTIC, but if you asked me I will tell you that my design style is old world meets new world (eclectic) I know there's no way I can turn the master bedroom into a pink or any girly color in that matter. I can across as loving pink color but I don't think pink it's my favorite color but I do want to get pink bug (may be someday). I am going to keep this simple design for may be my daughter. Look what I got

Home office

Our office was my first challenge, but the fact that it's still not be done 18 months later I need to re-evaluate. I went with a very calming green color (crocodile tears)and from there I thought of making one whole wall into a gallery of our pictures. I love photography so I love taking pictures and after our 2007 wedding we ended up with massive amount of beautiful black and white pictures from our engagement session to our wedding ceremony, reception and bridal shoots. I can't put up all these pictures around the house that will give me a headache. So without further a do ladies and gentlemen introducing my gallery wall, this is just the beginning.



Right now I'm in the search of a very nice executive desk at a reasonable price. I'm all about glamorous, sophisticated, but I want to achieve all of this at a very inexpensive price. Let's the search BEGIN!



This might be something to look into but I don't like the wood color therefore this may required some little sanding and staining this sucka.

Relaxing Mondays...

well I choose to relax today and do nothing well except to work, in the process I decided to compile some of my favorite Hindi film musicals. Some I LURVE the film as a whole some I'm just into the movie. my all time best indian movie is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and I just realized it doesn't matter how many times I have to watch this movie it still moves me...

Plants

I fell in love with these plants called Coleus and for some weird reason I'm so in love with these plants. Everywhere I go and I see it I jump up and down on how much I love it. I took a picture of it a week after I re-plant it, this freaking plant loves water. one moment you will see them dying and as soon as you pour some water they will jump right up. The transformation is so great that my husband even love to water those plants when he see them sleeping...

So I came across this video and I just wanted to share it with my niece. I know people will wonder why your niece? well first of all she's a good kid well sometimes but I tend to talk about how children learn from their parents and how parents are the first school to their children.

I have to remove the link, because the link was removed or broken. but the whole point is having young kids who are barely 10 dancing like they are "strippers" it's ridiculous, it make one think what did our world came to. The only thing I will be able to say is that I will pray that God help us to raise our children right.

First come the tiles...

Well 2 strike for craiglist, I hear a lot of rave about craiglist and how you can get professionals looking for work to help you do the little things you want to get done without hiring the High end high$$$ professionals, well for the second time the painting crew didn't work for us. I ended up with no painter and scared to hell to paint the house by myself, so what did I do you may asked?

Well I already bought paint, glass mosaic tiles and all the supplies for the backsplash, so I hit the kitchen hard, I have to run back and forth to Lowes 'cause the tiles guy at Lowes was going to help me cut the glass tiles on the wet sew. Anyway I showed up at Lowes early in the morning and that's when he realized we can't cut glass tiles on the wet sew. Hmmp! well I'm getting tired and I am on the verge of quiting ( who will quit there dream because of a small mishap right?) With enough luck on my side he directed me to purchase a glass cutter and go home and do it myself. I don't mind doing DIY but all those tiles... and I have to sit down and cut them? well I wanted to do this so bad, so I watched the video on how to lay backsplash about 80 times and I'm ready to slap mine on the back on that cooking wall. Home improvement bug

This week I been have working on the house on my head, but since I'm working all day and I don't get home until it's dark there's nothing else I can do. yesterday I manage to line up a painter to help me paint , and I decided I will do my own kitchen backslash. I wanted to tell my partner but he never believe I can do anything house related so I will wait until the day the painter will be busy doing his thing and I will be busy putting up backslash.

Making our house into a home

We have our house for 2 years 8 months ago and it's still look like it's up for sale. For some reasons that I can 't come to term with I am having problem decorating and making the house into a comfortable place for my family. in so many instance in the last two years I thought about doing something (ie. cookout, get together, etc.) but I will have to pass because I have no where for people to sit. I can't just imagine how every summer I can ran into a nursery and but plants and flowers to come and plant in the garden bed outside, damn we even get a lawn care treatment going on but I can't bring myself to that to our home.

Well as of yesterday I promise myself that I will take time each month and do a room in the house so that it can be comfortable for my family and I. I wanted to make the house so comfortable that when I came home from work on Friday I wouldn't even think of going anywhere. So follow me tou our house of love turns home.
